This recent photo, supplied by the Detroit Zoo, shows a newborn aardvark, Amani (Swahili for "peace"), was born December 8 to mother, Rachaael, and father, Mchimbaji. The Detroit Zoo is awaiting DNA test results to determine the sex



ROYAL OAK MI — The stork has left a baby aardvark at the Detroit Zoo.

The zoo announced Tuesday that the 23-inch creature was born hairless but boasting four-inch ears early in the morning of Dec. 8. It weighed 3 pounds, 10 ounces.

Things are just ok. I'm off to work soon. D's real sick. Trying to be optimistic y'know :)

My Dad will be here on Saturday for a week. I have to drive to the train station in Windsor to get him. Hoping the weather gives me a break.

3. I had a bad scare last night on the road

I started a thread about it- one of my famous Stories From the Road. :)

Everyone is fine here in Droopyland. Both my dad and stap-dad are recovering well now after having surgery a week apart. My dad has successfully kicked the Percocet. We thought that was going to take a lot longer, but he is doing well now without any pain meds which I find amazing.

So, yeah, everything is good. I got everybody commemorative, solid, silver coins for Christmas, except for my mom. I got her the traditional, Christmas, tree ornament. Silver plated so it has about the same value as the coins.

Tell D I said hi and that I hope he gets to feeling better soon.
