DVD Player Problems
by any chance can someone help me? My daughters have told me our DVD player will just freeze when a disc is playing, no problem with the disc, does the DVD player need to be cleaned?

Thanks for your help.

1. You can try it, based on experience I am not optimistic though
most of the time when a DVD player goes bad there is little that can be done. I have seen cleaning kits at Radio Shack, but I have not tried them, as I have never heard of a success story.

I would just double check with a couple of other disks though, because a disk's damage is not always visible.

3. Every DVD player I have gotten recently
has died in 2-3 uses. I would kick someone somewhere tender for a DVD player that lasted 2 years.

My wife bought one, used it once, and moved. On unpacking, it no longer worked. So we tried the one I got free. It started skipping and freezing after a couple weeks of very light use. So we bought a new one from Sears. Tried to watch LOTR. Didn't make it through the first disc. So we took it back. The replacement occasionaly skips toward the end of movies but seems to be working in a general way.

I don't know. I'm beginning to think that modern consumer electronics are not well made or something.

4. i used the canned air keyboard cleaner and that worked, it probably isn't recommended
but i did it anyway. It worked but that player only lasted about 4 years.
