my brother 'disowned' me for Christmas
My brother and I have never been close. I called hi to wish him a merry christmas and it ended up being a shouting match with him hanging up on me. He called me back and I answered but hung up on him shortly there after. The next time he called I didn't answer and he left a message saying that I was no longer his brother.

In one way I am sad, because he is my brother and below all of the bullshit I do love him. On the other hand I am relieved. I really don't need his craziness in my life.

Merry Christmas!

days. Holidays are stressful and can be especially difficult for even the happiest of relationships. I hope someday you will have the kind of relationship you want with your brother. It sounds like he has some work to do on his own before that can happen.
