The good news is I got the Wii hooked up to the network. The bad news is the hard drive on our desktop computer died.

1. Explain how it "died" did it just stop being recognized on the computer? |
|
did the drive crash? Do you have another means to boot the computer? Like a LiveCD or USB Pen drive?

3. Hmm, two things, one, open up the computer and make sure that the power connector... |
|
from the power supply is connected to the hard drive. Switch connectors if you have to, there are usually spares in the computer all ready to be hooked up. The second thing to check is the IDE or SATA connection to the motherboard. If its not those, then its probably the actual circuitry for power conversion on the hard drive itself. All your data is still there, you just can't get to it.

I will try the other power supply connector (I have one left) tomorrow. Happy freaking new year.

8. No but "Wizard of Oz" is my favorite movie of all time |
|
And I often find myself quoting it.
