What would a Tube-Map of the Milky Way look like?

Urban transit maps are wonderful tools: they are guides to traveling, they serve as mechanisms for distilling and abstracting a city down to a set of linkages and interconnections, and they are beautiful.

1. Needs more radial routes.

Right now if I wanted to go from the Orion Nebula to Andromeda Custom, I'd have a long frikkin' trip. Despite the fact that they're relatively close on a galactic scale.

The Galactic Center station would keep getting sucked into the giant black hole. And I thought Chicago in winter was bad. :o
