Sometimes you see something that just makes you feel good inside |
|
I was on my way back from dropping my dog off at the physical therapist. I was probably two miles from the house when I saw the biggest bird I've ever seen circling. I knew it wasn't a buzzard or crow, way too big for that. When I got a little closer the sun glinted off its white head and tail.
It was a bald eagle.
Just a mile or two from my house. How cool is that? When I was a kid there were serious doubts that the bald eagle would survive. Now I saw one, not in a raptor center or a wildlife rehab center, but in the wild.
I just had to tell someone. It made my day...

There is a place to go on the Eastern Shore of Maryland where you can see bald eagles...But a couple of years ago I saw one at a lake near my mothers house in the suburbs of DC!! They have made an astounding comeback..:)

3. I used to live on Adak in the middle of the Aleutian Islands... |
|
there is a HUGE population of Bald Eagles, there.
We had a big cliff behind our house that was full of nesting Eagles -- they are amazing to see.
I love Eagles!
