I'm jealous of everyone that is in DC for the inauguration |
|
but extremely happy for them. i hope we can see some great pictures of them celebrating (and pictures of DUers celebrating everywhere else too).

I had planned to go but things just didn't work out.
I had a place to stay, but things just didn't work out.
Damn I wanted to be there.

3. I feel the same. Isn't there a DU meet-up there tonight? Are there any threads about it yet? |

but then i remember that i met obama and was able to talk with him for a few minutes.. and then i think.. you know what? NA NA NA NA BOO BOO!
;)
seriously though, i'm sure the energy in the air of DC tomorrow is going to electric! at the DNC during his speech the feeling in the stadium was indescribable.. i can't imagine what it will be tomorrow.

6. My friend jumped on a greyhound to DC last night on a whim |
|
I appreciate the historical significance and all but I don't see the point of going if you can't actually see him speaking except on the jumbotron. I feel like I'll get a better experience watching TV inside focused on Obama and not how freezing cold I am.

Unless I was guaranteed a seat, I'd rather be home. Unless you're a pickpocket, being in giant crowds like that isn't fun most of the time.

10. It's cold and crowded their, so there is something to be said for watching it online or on TV |
|
still I wish them all the best, those that made the trek.:grouphug:

11. After band practice on Sunday night in DC I opted not to go |
|
Traffic is insane. God bless them for making the journey and being part of something this big. I'm just not that crazy about crowds unless I'm on stage rocking faces with my mancannon. Today's a personal day for me. I'd rather go to Hooters and have a few beers with some close friends.
Plus, it's fucking cold outside.

12. I live here, but am toying with a ride over in town. |
|
I don't expect to get anywhere near the core of things. That's supposed to be off limits to bikes, backpacks and baby strollers anyway. But maybe a photo safari of the outer fringes (I'm waiting for my battery to charge).
Out my window I saw a bunch of bikes and hoof traffic heading over. I've been watching it on France24 online.

13. I turned down tickets to go and I'm not the least bit sorry. |
|
I cannot stand crowds. I gave the tickets to younger members of my company.
