anyone watch Big Love?
I love the show and thought the season premiere was great, with the usual glaring exception: the cult leaders are not worthy opponents for Bill. They seem stupid and plodding, so there's never any real suspense about them getting the upper hand on Bill.

Maybe if the Feds were after him on one side and he was trying to manipulate the Juniper Creek yahoos at the same time, it might work, but Roman, Alby, and whatever that competing cult is that threatened to blowtorch Bill's dick seem like retards a twelve year old could outsmart.

The business about Barb's cancer coming back is a great bittersweet twist, particularly when it changes her mind about the Eastern European chick. The show is best when it's the Hendrickson's versus the rest of the world and worst when it's them versus Juniper Creek.

1. Well, I thought I was going to finally see an episode the other day
But then the greedy HBO bastards flipped the switch back to off as soon as the Obamapalooza concert replay was over.

3. I enjoyed the opening show
And I rather like the intrigue with Roman and the compound. And I like the way the women in the compound are managing to find ways of surviving. I think bringing in the FBI would just make it another FBI law enforcement story. With the intrigue coming from within the extended maze of families it's a great story about major dysfunctional family/religious stuff and therefore unique as stories go.
