Some freeper threatened to execute my family with a 45 cuz I called him Mr Thumbs Down Dum-dum.

2. Probably some low-grade intimidation offense.

Common Law assault has to be an emminent threat. States usually have lower grades when the threat is less realistic. Of course using an electronic medium to do it may be an offense in itself.
