Just dropped my cell phone (my only phone) in a bucket of water I had in the kitchen. It started scrambling through all the screens. I took the battery out and have it in a bowl of dry, uncooked rice for the night. Hopefully it will keep working.
Stay tuned! Tomorrow's another day. :)

Like I said, I dropped mine in a quick flowing river once. Granted, it was an older phone and easier to poke around in, but I had it up and working with only a little sand under the screen in three hours.

It's an LG EnV and it was closed when it hit the water. I took the battery out when the screens started flipping. It doesn't have a sim card and I was able to take the plate off around the keys to expose it to air. Now it's in a bowl of raw rice. Hopefully it won't die for good. Sheesh...

3. Yeah, if I recall, the screen flipped out on mine, too. |
|
Or maybe just the display went wonky and blacked out in places. Regardless, I took it apart to the level that I felt comfortable putting it back together again, laid all the parts out on some paper towels, and all was well in the end. Just in case it does die, can you get a new one cheap or for free?

4. I think I've got every cell phone I've ever owned |
|
I can have my number transferred to one of those handsets. I may do that tonight since I don't have any other phone.

To the day.
To the end of a folly.
To tomorrow.
To you.
To President Obama.

What's the rice for? I'd leave it in the furnace room (assuming you're in a cold climate)
Was it clean water? If not, I'd probably rinse it before drying. It works (usually) for coffee-in-keyboards.
Best of luck.

The rice works like rice in a salt shaker. Draws the moisture out.
Thanks. I need the luck! :hi:

I like that phone too much, so it'll happen.
Story of my life.
That, or I'll drop it on the floor and it'll shatter in a million pieces.
