Is there an internet backbone down?
I'm on the west coast trying to access several sites in PA and can't. These are my bank, newspaper from home, etc... DU is working fine, as are many other sites. I've got T3 speed so that's not an issue.

2. Are you on the west coast?
I'm unable to access that site too. I tried several Pittsburgh area banks and newspapers and can't get those.

6. No problems here at my work
major data center, outside D.C. with our NOC all the way back in California. I am currently working on a co-located customer issue <only hardware> and able to get back and forth with West Coast and New Jersey fairly well.

another inclusive site:

http://www.whatsdown.net/

The Looking Glass links are good. Sprint <who is not my employer> has a decent webtool. I think it was nitrous.sprint and now it's oxide.sprint . Most will give you some ability to troubleshoot from different parts of the country/continent/world. If you were fine out in Mae-West land, you could try pinging site from Mae-East area and see if issue was possibly local or across a backbone or backbone hand-off.

A couple of years ago, when the train fire inside of a Baltimore tunnel basically melted a good part of East Coast traffic...you should have seen some of the pretty colors on the map and the funny hops or dead-ends that routes were taking. Mostly I remember the pretty colors. Was about the same the weekend that SQL Slammer hit last January.

8. Yes, normally it is
kickass. However, this weekend it's not. The problem is probably with my school's network because I plugged my laptop into my cellphone and had no problems. At least DU is working!
