My cat, Mookie, understands taking turns, it seems |

For years I would pet him and at the end of a good long session, he would lick my hand, grooming me I guess. Not so much turn taking, however; perhaps an expression of contentment, right?
Over the last couple of years, he's started the "headbutt to the hand" thing when he wanted to be petted. And par for the course, at some point he'd start licking my hand.
Recently, however, he's started approaching me by licking my hand first. After a minute or two he stops and then comes the headbutt. I'll pet him a short bit, stop, he'll lick my hand briefly, then headbutt again, i.e. OK your turn again.
I love my Mooks.
