If they're looking for infrastructure projects, they can start with storm drains in Boston |
|
This place is a snowy, swampy mess right now. Blech. Me and everybody I saw out there today got soaked trying to wade across the intersections.
Wintry mix? More like nature's mucous.

It's a complete mess out there. I can't wait to slide down my driveway on the way to the T in the morning once it all freezes up. Ugh.

Wet and grumpy without a car? Or slipping and sliding all over the road in one...
I think I'll stick with the sidewalks. I've only been living here for a year and a half (off and on), so maybe you can tell me: why doesn't this city have anything close to adequate drainage?

4. I was just reading about that recently |

Good book - The World Without Us.
Anyway, the author pointed out that in NYC, they have pumps running constantly to keep water out of the subway tunnels and that if all the power shut down (and no generators or any kind of backup kicked in) it would only take something like 36 hours for them to completely flood.
We're geniuses, we humans.

And as I'm trying to unclog one particular snow plugged drain, massholes are swerving into the puddles to splash me with icy muck.
They think it is such fun!
