Do you feel the need to tell why you edited your post? |
|
Edited on Sat Jan-31-09 12:46 AM by Shell Beau
9 times out of 10 mine is for spelling. Spellcheck is your friend and I rarely use it. I see my posts all the time and wonder why I don't use it too. I so need to. My fingers go faster than my brain apparently.
Edited to take that extra "o" out of to! :P

I'm sure your mother is a lovely woman, and it was really unkind of me to imply otherwise.

4. If I make a spelling error, I usually don't mention it. |
|
However, if I post something provocative and I make any error, I want to make sure who ever reads the post knows my intent.

5. I usually do - mainly because I've seen other people do it |
|
I guess it doesn't serve any real purpose, however, unless you drastically changed the meaning after someone responded...

If it's just fixing a mistake I'll usually put *edited for spelling* or something like that at the bottom. If I'm just adding on to it real quick because I thought of something else to say right after I hit post, I don't usually do anything like that.

Sometimes I do, sometimes not.
I try very hard to read my post over before posting, just to avoid having to edit.
What I like to do is make sure the edit happens during the same minute that the post did...
This tells me that I was on the ball at least a little bit!
Yeah, I know I'm weird...

Because why do people need to know why I edited my post? They don't.

15. depends on my mood. : ) |
|
Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. If I think it adds something by offering an explanation, then I'll do so. I do it less often than I did at first, because I realized that there are so many insignificant reasons to go back in and edit something that it's not as much of a formal necessity as it would be in a professional publication or article.
That's my take on it, anyway... still if the mood strikes me, I'll give a reason. Gotta love freedom of choice! : )

When I reread my post again there's almost always a typo. Sometimes I'll think of something else I should have said right after I push "post message."

but if it's to add something, I mention that so that if someone reads it twice (lol, like that ever happens!) then they'll realize what part I added
edited to add an example of what I mean, although I don't really have anything to add, other than this example
