Is anyone else watching "The Restaurant"?
Is this guy Rocco a dickhead or what? I'd be hard pressed to find a bigger egomaniac than this guy.

And who runs a restaurant like this?

3. I've read about it 10 times
Was tempted to check it out because I enjoyed Anthony Bourdain's book, Kitchen Confidential. But I think you've turned me off the idea of checking out the show. No need to watch yet more egomanical dudes on parade, we've got the Bush administration for that!

4. Having worked as a line cook
I can relate to the show. Luckily our kitchen staff was great, we clicked nearly all of the time. Rocco's kitchen sucks, you can tell these employees just wanted to be on TV.

5. my sister forced me to watch the premiere episode
uggghh.... Rocco is lame, the whole premise is lame. What's next, a reality store about being a cashier at a hardware store? A hotel housekeeper? I've been both, BTW, and they're honest jobs, but not exactly entertaining TV fare.

(Actually, after a summer as a housekeeper I was in the best shape in my life. Now I use my education to sit on my butt and I'm like a banana slug.)

6. Wonderful show...lived the role 25 years ago...
Rocco is hot, the staff are total geeks who just want to be on TV, and I'm making a batch of Mama's meatballs and marinara (courtesy of Bon Appetit) tomorrow.
