I need to know - what kind of sadistic s.o.b. puts wallpaper directly on wallboard |
|
without a primer?
I just spent the day taking down wallpaper in my mother's master bathroom (she is remodeling). I finally went and rented a steamer and that did help some. I swear the person that hung the paper 25 years ago used the strongest glue known to man. The walls will have to be plastered and skimmed before being painted.
Whoo doggy, I am one tired gal this evening. I am going to have to take a muscle relaxer and go to bed early. I will probably dream about peeling wallpaper.

|
we had the bathroom upgraded to tile in Houston before me moved in and here the water closet was vinyl so we ripped that and the carpet out and installed slate, mostly me BTW!

The other day I got bored and decided to try ripping up the carpet in the bedroom. The bedroom closet has gorgeous hardwood floors. The main part room has hideous pastel lineoleum. Underneath that is hideous green lineoleum tiles stuck to the hardwood with tar. WHO THE FUCK LINEOLEUMS THE MASTER FUCKING BEDROOM OVER HARDWOOD FLOORS?
Now we're stuck with the hideous carpet that never looks clean, because it's practically white and we have dogs.

13. Can you get the floors refinished? |
|
We had ours refinished and had some damage repaired (BURNED AREAS! :o ) and it was about $1200 for a room.
Which was 100% worth it, 'cause that was some nasty-ass beige carpet with dirt and crayon marks. :banghead:

18. We're going to refinish the hardwood in the other two bedrooms and living room |
|
I don't know what we're going to do with that bedroom. It's the biggest one, and it literally took about 100 hours worth of work to get that shit off the floor in the bedroom half the size. And, it came up easier in that bedroom because of water/mold damage. Yay!

19. The floor guys we called |
|
sanded down the whole floor in about an hour.
Maybe the linoleum/tar mix could be sanded off?
Also, if you have the floors done, it's easier to do them all at once 'cause depending on the finish you can't walk on them for a few days, and you may as well leave town 'cause the stench is horrific. x(

oil based enamel instead of taking the wallpaper down!

They also spatter-painted my radiators pink, green, and gold.
