Good morning Lounge
How are you today? How was your weekend?

OMG!!! Thank you so much for all those hearts :wow: Whoever you are!!! I really didn't expect that many :loveya:

So this Saturday I went to an 80s party with my friend. We haven't been there in over a year. And who do we meet there? Our admin manager :o It was kinda strange to see this man there, even though he is only a bit older than us.

This morning I came to work a bit later and first thing I had to deal with - and so far the only thing - was a problem with my co-workers computer. Of course our computer guy is on vacation for the next 3 weeks x( Fortunately I have someone else I can call when there is a problem I can't solve. He says there is a problem with the Active Directory x( Oh joy ....

4. Good morning MissH!!
:hi::loveya::hug:

I am leaving for work early today since my insomnia got me, and little mb is at camp. She was very excited to see a girl who was a cabinmate this past summer and basically dismissed us once we had made her bed  . Since I don't have a long weekend like some, and she's not here, I am going to just get this day over with. Plus, after work I will go hang out with ex DUer Distressed American. :D

The 80s party sounds fun, and I would be very bummed if any mgmt from my work showed up anywhere I was, I'm just like that

Have an awesome day

Thank you !!! You just HAVE to visit me :D

I have to have blankets and pillows. I love to snuggle underneath and read or watch TV. Also, it keeps me warm as I save money and don't overheat the condo.

Not at all did that dampen our fun. We found it hilarious. Made a good story at work today

15. Glad to hear that you and
your cohorts had fun even with the work police at the club. ;)

Yes, I too snuggle on the sofa watching TV, and I too am very conscience about heat. My condo has separate heating controls in the main living area, the two bedrooms and my bathroom. I don't heat the two bedrooms or the bathroom at all. The bathroom stays comfortable because it's surrounded by inner walls. Typically I turn the heat on in my bedroom about 20 minutes before heading for bed to get the chill out. That coupled with an electric blanket keeps me nice and cozy.

Guess we all have to do our part to conserve energy.

I'd LOVE to see your place in person.

he was more embarrassed than we were

I only heat my living room and bathroom. I hate to come in a cold bathroom in the mornings. I have a timer on both heaters, so they only heat when I told them to heat. Helps a lot. My bedroom I never heat. I sleep with the window open, even in the winter so that would be a waste of money. Of course I heat my small room every now and then when I know I will sit on my computer a bit longer.

11. Good Morning Miss H
It looks like you have a beautiful condo with those wooden floors and the way the light plays there in the evening. I really like that old piece of furniture on the right side of the photo. Is that an antique?

My weekend was uneventful, which is the way I like them. I did laundry, visited with relatives, and goofed off on DU a lot. :) A real, professional writer here at DU commented on one of my stories and said it was good. That was pretty cool.

Your stories ARE good. You write very lively and bring the people in your stories alive for us. I know they are real people but we don't know them. And with your stories you make them part of our lives.
If you ever make a book out of your stories I want a copy.

Yes, it is antique. It is Art Nouveau. The table and the small piece of furniture next to the table (in the shadow) are antiques too. The small cabinet I got from my great grandmother.

It makes me happy that people here like my stories. I asked the admin here about copyright law and DU. I was thinking that maybe I had screwed up by posting my stories on DU. They said that was not the case and that my stories are 100% mine. I was very relieved to learn that.

I have 32 stories together now and about 25,000 words. They say that you should shoot for about 100,000 words for a book here in the states. That's about average in length. Once I get there I will try shopping the book around to see if I can attract an agent and then a publisher for it. If that doesn't work out I will probably self-publish the book.

Okay, quick German question: I was watching the film "Metropolis" and in one section there is a sign (it looks sort of like a hotel sign, but I'm not sure that is what it is) and it had the word "utmoh" (at least I think that's what it is), but the internet translators can't translate it for me. 47. G'day, MissH
:hi:

Looks like a pleasant day there. I spent the weekend training for football, and making more beer. I think I'll make more soda later today. Maybe a nice birch beer soda. :9

49. Good morning Brewman_Jax
:hi: :loveya:

It was a nice day. Today it is snowing like crazy. OK, I did snow like crazy all morning. Now it stopped. I prefer snow over rain any day though. I don't have to drive in that white stuff after all :D

Maybe you could try to sell your soda and beer :D

How is your mom doing?

55. Went to the MD appointment
and the x-rays showed that the cartilage in both knees is gone. Surgery is the next option. The question is what technique to use and when to schedule. :(

Selling the soda and beer? Soda--not likely, but the beer...if the recipe works, that may be worth the research.

68. Thanks for the picture. Your place is starting to take shape and
look like a home. I did not do much this weekend. I was so tried from work that I slept about all day Saturday. I did get some laundry and shopping done. That is a bout it.

:loveya:  :hi:

:hi: :loveya:

Thank you. I admit, I like to boast about my place. I just like it so much there.

I still do have to do my laundry. I wanted to do it this weekend but didn't. Oh well ... I still have enough clothes to wear

Yes, it is very nice to know that there are people here who care enough about us to let us know and it is going for a good cause, too ;)

75. OK, now I am confused
after looking up what scrubs mean. What do have scrubs to do with laundry????

That is true. I just never expect that many.

77. uh-oh
Scrubs = slang for uniforms. I only have enough to wear every week because this place requires us to wear only certain colors. I have them in lots of colors but, only enough in this color for a week.

78. Ok, that makes sense then
and you are right, kitty hair on those isn't very likely. Unless they sleep on the freshly washed :)

82. and the fabric they are made
NOTHING sticks to it. The kitties never really see me in them anyway. I only put them on before I go out the door and I take them off immediately when I get home. They are either on a hanger or in the laundry basket.

Getting where I hate the sight of them. :D

I am the only Human they will hang with. Anyone else comes for a visit and out the door they go. Never to be seen again until all my company is gone...for a looong time. They are so silly. :loveya:

You do NOT want to see my "office". It is cluttered and messy ... LOL

The living room will look fuller once the bigger couch is here. That blue loveseat is getting lost in the big living room
