Why do people do this? Anyone? |
|
I work as a room service waiter on the 3rd shift. People call, place an order and we quote them a time, "We'll have that to you within 30 minutes" and proceed to begin work on the order.
I must know...
Why do some people either:
A) Pass out before you can get there or B) Try to knock off a piece before you show up. (Though I do have to admit it is funny watching a guy come to the door with a limp or try to hide it behind the door.) I mean, really, how good could it be if you have to try to get it done that fast?
People are such noobs.

1. Because they're wasted? |
|
Also, I suspect that a lot of people don't grasp that service personnel (valets, waitstaff, maids, etc) actually notice things. Especially obvious things like a boner-tent in a bathrobe.
I notice the same delusion when I'm teaching - students think I don't notice the texting, note-passing, eating, newspaper reading, etc (actually, I just don't care...)

2. Because they're so arrogant and/or intoxicated that wait staff is invisible to them. (nt) |

3. Because they're drunk, I will use my sisters as an example |
|
We went on a cruise to Alaska this summer. My sister and two step-sisters got WASTED. Their night involved losing their room key, stealing blankets and approximately a gallon of Long Island Iced Teas. So, they get back to the room, and the least wasted one doesn't want to deal with them, and she pretends to go to sleep. My sister and other step-sister decide they're hungry and order just about everything on the room service menu (it's like 4am). By the time room service arrives, step-sister is in the bathroom puking, and my sister is sitting on the bed alone waiting for her food. Apparently, the guy asked her where the party was, because it was done to just her and about 8 plates of food.
Due to this night, they also missed the glacier. My sister, ironically, claims to have had a dream about missing the glacier that night.

check into a hotel/motel. Is there a website that lists that sort of thing- bet it would be very entertaining/ funny to read.
I can still picture buddies of mine offering whatever they were smoking to the maid back when we used to visit NYC more regularly in the 80s...
( I usually repaired to the other room to do some yoga) O8)
