I can't even think of any of the lyrics - major brain blankout here -- but the song is relatively recent (since 2002, probably). The song starts or has in it the sound of a bell, I think. Sort of melancholy, bb's part is something about "ever since you went away... "

Or SOMETHING like that. I am going to go crazy if I can't figure this out. I heard a bell a bit like the one that's in the song and it triggered a very incomplete memory.

Halp! Please!

edit: I think the video has a telephone booth in it. DAMNIT! ARGH!

1. Primitive Radio Gods' "Standing Outside a Broken Phone Booth
with Money in My Hand"

I'll bet that's the one you're thinking of. It's a little older than '02, though; think it came out in the mid-90's.

I think the B. B. King part is a sample from an older song he recorded called "Downhearted."

Seems like it was the 90s - I was in music exile for a long time and am just finding some things I missed.

I love it because of B.B. King. Cannot get enough of his voice, for some reason. I like the way it's mixed in with the song...

Edit: Where are my manners? Thanks for the info and link!

12. that's fantastic! Thanks, bluesbassman!
I saw BB about 10 years ago at The Blue Note in NYC - just incredible, esp. in a small venue.

9. I've always thought Howie Day's "Collide" had a similar vibe to this song.
Except this song is better. :) It drives my wife nuts when I start singing the B.B. King part of this song over top of "Collide."
