1. Weird story about spam and rations during WWII.

My dad loved spam. (blech) Got used to it when he was in the South Pacific during WWII.


My best friend's dad despised it for the same reason, but adored creamed chipped beef. My own dad would sooner have licked an ashtray.

I always thought that was weird that two men eating the same (blech) could react so differently.

A history lesson which should not be forgotten.

We'd have a turkey in the fridge or a delicious ham, makings for many tasty sandwiches and my father would open a can of Spam. "What are you doing?' we'd ask incredulously. He said he 'didn't eat leftovers'. He got used to it in the Army as well. Sometimes...he'd fry it in butter. :eyes:
