I don't think fruits belong in beer OR tequila (no exceptions). |
|
If you're beer and/or tequila is so bad you need fruit to make it palatable perhaps you should give up drinking!

I agree that one should not put fruit in beer (unless the brew itself has it in it, e.g. lambic).

500+ years of history suggests you should re-think that. Peach lambic = heaven in a glass. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lambic

|
I was at a bar just 2 weeks ago and bought a Patron Anejo. THe girl comes over and there is a lime on the glass and salt on the rim. I told that I had said "NEAT" which means nothing but the liquor. Manager gave me a free shot - he understood why I was upset about my shot.

If you need fruit with your tequila, you need to be drinking real tequila. I keep mine in the freezer so its nice and cold when I drink it.

39. Certain beers are enhanced by fruit, and it isn't a matter of it being "bad" |
|
and needing to be made "more palatable" with the additional flavor.
For example, Leinenkugels Sunset Wheat tastes great all by itself. The addition of an orange slice enhances that goodness. It covers up nothing.

a little lime rubbed on the rim adds a nice bite to it. And nothing wrong making a margarita with some of the cheaper stuff. And by cheaper stuff I'm not talking about Jose Cuervo gold grap, I'm thinking some of the better mixtos or lower quality blanco

Tequila Lime Shrimp 2 tablespoons lime juice 2 tablespoons tequila 1/4 cup olive oil 1 pinch garlic salt 1 pinch ground cumin ground black pepper to taste 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined 6 (10 inch) wooden skewers 1 large lime, quartered Whisk together the lime juice, tequila, olive oil, garlic salt, cumin, and black pepper in a bowl until well blended. Pour into a large resealable plastic bag; add the shrimp, seal bag and turn to coat evenly. Refrigerate 1 to 4 hours before grilling. Soak skewers at least 30 minutes in water to prevent burning. Preheat outdoor grill for medium-high heat. Lightly oil grill grate, and place about 4 inches from heat source. Drain and discard marinade from shrimp. Thread shrimp onto prepared skewers, 5 to 6 per skewer. Cook, uncovered, on preheated grill until shrimp turn pink, turning once, for 5 to 7 minutes. Serve with lime wedges for garnish.
