Five Tuesday questions
1. Did you like high school and college, if you went to college?
2. Have you bought any full albums (digital or physical) in 2009?
3. What would you classify your computer knowledge as (don't know them, basic knowledge, advanced knowledge, or complete computer geek?)
4. In honor of St. Patrick's Day, do you have any Irish blood?
5. When did you figure out there's no Easter Bunny?

My answers:

1. Liked high school, but thought my college was way overrated and I didn't get any lasting friendships out of it

2. Yes - here are some: Kelly Clarkson - All I Ever Wanted, U2 - No Line On The Horizon, Bruce Springsteen - Working On A Dream, 2 Kinks CDs, Miranda Lee Richards - Light Of X, Molly Jensen - Maybe Tomorrow, Chris Isaak - Mr. Lucky, Love Willows - Hey! Hey! (pre-ordered,) The Decemberists - Hazards of Love (pre-ordered,) Neko Case - Middle Cyclone, Leslie Mills - Everlasting Road, Fransisca London - self-titled. Ones I also want soon: new Indigo Girls and Yeah Yeah Yeahs CDs (hated the first Yeah Yeah Yeahs album, thought the second was much more solid, and It's Blitz is great IMO), among catching up on CDs from Lykke Li and M. Ward. All the ones I bought and heard are highly recommended.

3. Advanced

4. Yes, a little bit

5. At 7 years old, and the same day I figured out Santa and the Tooth Fairy

2. Hey, it's better than starting dinner
1. Loathed high school (Catholic girls school--nuff said), loved college.

2. No. I pick and choose individual songs I like on iTunes.

3. Basic--I don't think my brain can handle more.

4. Not sure. My ancestors (both sides of my family) are all from Sicily, but on my mom's side there are rumors of an Irish sailor who left some genes but not his name, if you get my drift.

5. I don't remember, but it was later than 6, which is how old I was when we moved away from the first house I lived in, and I remember eagerly hunting for my Easter basket every year in that house.

6. Five answers:
1. Did you like high school and college, if you went to college?
I loved some of high school. I loved being in Knowledge Bowl and Science Olympiad. After that, the rest of it really sucked. I may never go to my reunions (my ten year is next year). I loved college though. Everyone accepted you for who you were, no matter what. You could always make friends with everyone. If you saw someone at a party one night, and ran into them a few days later, they'd remember you and your name. People really matured when they went to college (well, most of them).

2. Have you bought any full albums (digital or physical) in 2009?
No.

3. What would you classify your computer knowledge as (don't know them, basic knowledge, advanced knowledge, or complete computer geek?)
Advanced knowledge. I majored in Computer Science my first year of college. I was a real computer geek in high school.

4. In honor of St. Patrick's Day, do you have any Irish blood?
Unfortunately, I don't think I have any Irish blood in me. I do love all things Irish, though.

5. When did you figure out there's no Easter Bunny?
The day I was able to process thought.

7. Ok
1. Did you like high school and college, if you went to college?

I loved both high school and college. I had a blast in both.

2. Have you bought any full albums (digital or physical) in 2009?

I don't think so.

3. What would you classify your computer knowledge as (don't know them, basic knowledge, advanced knowledge, or complete computer geek?)

Middle of the road. Not advanced by any means, but I can hold my own.

4. In honor of St. Patrick's Day, do you have any Irish blood?

Oh yeah! My grandma is 100% Irish. And she has the temperment to prove it.

5. When did you figure out there's no Easter Bunny?

Probably around 8-ish.

11. I put that I have advanced knowledge, but maybe I am more middle of the road
- I got a webmaster's certificate, but only basic programming, and I'd have to brush up on that
- I'm into computer security, but know more general concepts than specifics

9. 5 Tuesday answers!
1. yes, i liked junior high, high school and college...grad school not so much.
i still see people from junior high from time to time.
i had some stellar teachers and professors along the way and remember the best things they taught --stuff most assuredly not in the curriculum.

2. no albums, but lots of itunes.

3. advanced (was a part time network administrator for a time, but kept the server running on prayer rather than knowledge).

4. yup, a bit actually.

5. 8 years old. Easter Bunny was the first one to seem bogus to me, then the tooth fairy (who paid better at my grandparents house :wtf: )...in no time, Santa went *poof* and i announced to my older cousin in front of everybody "you still believe in Santa???" :hide: whoops.

14. Five eternal answers - at least for this Tuesday

1. Did you like high school and college, if you went to college?

High school? My clinically diagnosed PTSD developed long before then...

2. Have you bought any full albums (digital or physical) in 2009?

Yes: Bill Miller: "Raven in the Snow"... and one of the many albums entitled "The Best of the Doors". The one with "Peace Frog" in it.

3. What would you classify your computer knowledge as (don't know them, basic knowledge, advanced knowledge, or complete computer geek?)

Computer geeks are morons compared to me. :)

4. In honor of St. Patrick's Day, do you have any Irish blood?

No. Only Scottish blood. I'll paint it green if it'll turn you on...

5. When did you figure out there's no Easter Bunny?
The day I was first treated to hasenpfeffer. Now I can't get enough of the stuff. Fortunately, all the rabbits can't get enough of each other either...

15. Hi MVD
BTW thank you so much for your kind comments on that other thread -they meant more to me than you could ever know:yourock: As you should know by know, I also think that you are a great asset to DU and I love reading your posts -especially about music and your crushes -and have greatly valued and enjoyed working with you as a mod partner. You are one of my favorite posters on here and I do hope you will come back as a moderator at some point

But anyway, on to the questions
1. Did you like high school and college, if you went to college? I loved high school for most of the time I was there -so much so that I still have pleasant dreams about my time there. I loved college even more. I often wish I could go back to those days

2. Have you bought any full albums (digital or physical) in 2009?

No but (don't laugh) I have ordered an Engelbert Humperdinck CD from Amazon

3. What would you classify your computer knowledge as (don't know them, basic knowledge, advanced knowledge, or complete computer geek?)

Semi-advanced. I know how to touch-type and have quite a good proficency when using Microsoft World, the Internet, PhotoShop and some of the other programs on there. I can struggle through Microsoft Excel and I can quite often figure out some of the other various applications, as well as resolving basic problems with my computer, with a great deal of time and patience. On the other hand I often have to deter to others in solving more complex problems with my computer and there are some applications I just can't figure out

4. In honor of St. Patrick's Day, do you have any Irish blood?
Strangely enough, I don't think so. I have a diverse background which means I have European ancestry and Asian ancestry and I know that I have English, Scottish and Welsh blood but we haven't found any Irish ancestry to my knowledge. But then again, since our family is so diverse, we may find out that we do at some point

5. When did you figure out there's no Easter Bunny?
When I was probably about six or seven and I figured it out the same time I figured out there was no Santa Claus. I remember asking my Dad about it and he confirmed it to me. They still gave me stockings for several years after though

Have a great day MVD:hi:

23. A first time answerer, so be gentle
1) Hated HS, went to a private catholic school and it was snobbish. Didn't want to go there but if I didn't I was out of a nice house. Loved college, but that was during the early 70s, so it was very relevant.

2) No - we only have a few for the car. I prefer live radio.

3) I would give me @ 40%

4) Me Grandfather and grandmother were from county Cork. Early 1900s.

5) Can't remeber about the Easter Bunny but I had older brothers who killed Santy Claus to me @ age 5.

1.) More in retrospect than at the time, but yes.

2.) Nope. Not my dealie. I don't buy physical recordings of music.

3.) Professional. I use them to create media.

4.) No, however, being a descendant of a Jacobite clan largely-exiled and stripped-of-title-and-land after Culloden, I feel a strong kinship for the Irish. We share a common history of being oppressed and colonized by a nation of wankers. Also, both being Celtic in origin, we probably do, in fact, share common ancestry.

5.) Some time around Kindergarten, it seems.

1. High school was ok. College, HELL YEAH!
2. No but I've borrowed a few
3. Everything I know about computers is self taught so barely basic
4. My ancestors were mostly hillbillies.
5. Second grade. Surprisingly I believed in Santa til I was 10 though!

5. Never did believe in the little toad

39. OK, why not.
1. High school was pretty good. College has been fun, but I'm ready to graduate now,

2. Blood Stain Child - Mozaiq, and Blackwater Park, an older Opeth album. Most of my musical activity this year came in the form of reformatting my iPod a week ago.

3. More than advanced, but probably not quite complete geek.

4. Not as far as I know.

5. I never really believed in the Easter Bunny, Santa, or the Tooth Fairy (though that didn't stop me from collecting money for teeth :P). Anthropomorphic personifications of religious concepts never made much sense to me as long as I can remember.

40. I'll bite. ;)
1. Did you like high school and college, if you went to college?
After I went from public school where I had teachers my dad had before :eyes: to private school, I started to enjoy it, and I met many of like-minded people there.

2. Have you bought any full albums (digital or physical) in 2009?
No album. A few songs, though. I rarely listen to music.

3. What would you classify your computer knowledge as (don't know them, basic knowledge, advanced knowledge, or complete computer geek?)
Advanced knowledge bordering on geekyness in certain instances; however, I'm no tech guy but have to use the stuff. So don't send me your broken laptop. ;)

4. In honor of St. Patrick's Day, do you have any Irish blood?
No.

5. When did you figure out there's no Easter Bunny?
I can't recall ever believing in it to begin with. I think I thought there was actually a Santa until I was about five years old. Tooth fairies we don't really have here.

4. Yes, I do.
5. I have no idea. Probably around 8 years old.

43. Mine
1. Did you like high school and college, if you went to college? I liked college WAY better; not so superficial, better classes, and being away from home. Plus my father taught at my high school and was the football coach so I was expected to get top grades and none of the cool guys wanted to date me.

2. Have you bought any full albums (digital or physical) in 2009? Yes, I just bought Joey DeFrancesco's Joey! as a valentine for my SO.

3. What would you classify your computer knowledge as (don't know them, basic knowledge, advanced knowledge, or complete computer geek?) Basic. I know enough to do what I need to do.

4. In honor of St. Patrick's Day, do you have any Irish blood? I'm about half Irish; most of the rest is Scottish.

5. When did you figure out there's no Easter Bunny? WHAT?

45. Yay! Questions!
1. Did you like high school and college, if you went to college?
I was enrolled in 4 different high schools and skipped as many days as I could without getting kicked out. I graduated in 4 years plus 6 weeks. Didn't go to college for real until I was 36. I liked it, but not in the way a 19 year old likes it.

2. Have you bought any full albums (digital or physical) in 2009?
Um, yes I have:

Jesu -- Spirit
St Vitus -- V
If These Trees Could Talk -- If These Trees Could Talk
Alabama Thunderpussy -- Open Fire
Cheap Trick -- Dream Police
ELO -- Strange Magic: The Best Of Electric Light Orchestra
Melvins -- A Senile Animal
The Ventures -- Walk Don't Run: The Best Of The Ventures
Wolfmother -- Wolfmother
Warhammer48k -- Uber Om
Cynic -- Focus
YOB -- The Unreal Never Lived
Roy Orbison -- The Essential Roy Orbison
Elvis Presley -- The Essential Elvis Presley
Foghat -- The Best Of Foghat
Judas Priest -- British Steel
Torche -- Meanderthal
Lamb Of God -- Wrath

3. What would you classify your computer knowledge as (don't know them, basic knowledge, advanced knowledge, or complete computer geek?)
Basic knowledge.

4. In honor of St. Patrick's Day, do you have any Irish blood?
My dad's mom's dad was full Irish, born in the USA.
My mom's mom was full Irish, born in Ireland.

5. When did you figure out there's no Easter Bunny?
First grade, catholic school. Those nuns weren't about to let that shit slide...lol.

48. Okay, my answers.
1. Yes to both. I started out hating HS. I went to a small catholic grade school and middle school, then went to a huge public HS. It took a while to adjust.
2. No. I download music illegally. Hey, I'm unemployed.
3. I'm pretty computer savvy. I'm on a Mac so I don't have to know THAT much.
4. 100% Polish.
5. When I was about 12. I was a Catholic, so I was pretty much in denial about the real world.
