Petrolheads, start your...er...bittorrents...
Top Gear returns in June with Series 13

If life without new episodes of Top Gear is too depressing to bear, you only have a few months to wait for Series 13. Clarkson, Hammond, May and the Stig will be back for more automotive mayhem in June. The terrific trio will undoubtedly have a whole new arsenal of automotive hi-jinx waiting for us in the new series, but those stunts will have to come cheaper than in previous series. To keep the show in the black during tough times, Top Gear took a substantial budget hit. On the Top Gear blog, Executive Producer Andy Wilman noted that the show was already running on a drum-tight budget, and that 2009 cuts will be evident in the final product. We hope not, but we're sure that the guys at Top Gear will air nothing short of an innovative and entertaining Series 13.

1. The Russian version is amusing in its own way
I watched two episodes, they were essentially repeating the early seasons of TGUK, on the cheap.

But the way they narrate any SIARPC runs is funny "Look at her sling that domestic scrap metal garbage around the 4th turn!"

And the Stig got his own translation "It's a good thing he woke up ready to kill the small and weak this morning, he's really going!"

2. LOL that sounds good
They didn't try to get presenters that mimic the UK ones a la Australia, did they? :scared:

4. Does this mean no more copious destruction of caravans, then?
Since they like to razz "the colonies" for the economic downturn, it should make for some good comedy if they have to do something on the cheap.

5. Last I heard...

Last I heard, one of the TG producers said they were going to spend just as much money as always until they ran out, and then do lame, cheap shows at the end of the season.

Dude got into a little trouble for saying that, IIRC.

On edit: They can stop destroying caravans when they pull the trigger from Jezza's, Hammond's, and May's cold, dead hands!

6. Some of their really cheap segments have been some of their best.
-Having their moms test three boring subcompacts.

-Cars from the Pacific Rim. Matter of fact, there are times in traffic where I'll bust out laughing when I see one of the cars tested. The Kia Rio/Hyundai Accident portion was particularly hilarious.

-Porsche for under 1500 quid Challenge

-Build a better police car

They can do funny on the cheap, no doubt.
