Adam Lambert FUCKED UP Ring Of Fire By The Great Johnny Cash
Shameful, and if were a member of his family, I'd be fucking pissed off. I know these singers are supposed to give it their own "favor," but Lambert destroyed that song. Sure he doesn't like country music, but that so-called performance was ridiculous.

Ripped off from The Cure by a guy who's trying to look like Trent Reznor.

59. Who claimed it was original? Make up much? Adam said he found it, unquote.
Dilana from "Rock Star" also did the Middle Eastern-influenced version.

The contestants aren't supposed to be slavish mimics of the original.

If so, I'm no longer interested. Someone else already desecrated a Meat Loaf song earlier this season, so who's next? Bryan Ferry? Jimmy Buffett? Roberta Flack? Strawberry Alarm Clock? This is probably going to get a lot worse before it gets any better...

He was the worst tonight, IMO. But he does have a strong fan base.

(I'm thinking this is the week when the judges use the new "save" option. Even though Adam's performance was substandard, he's good for the ratings.)

1) It was made clear that they didn't think Michael was worth saving - I agree, but it's rude
2) They are mostly amateurs, and will seem nervous singing for their Idol lives. Alexis did, and even forgot words

Adam wasn't that bad. His voice actually sounded good, even if the overall performance wasn't great. The save should be called "In case America votes Danny off" save. Danny is an average singer and yet the judges act like he's the male Celine Dion.

I think most of the performers don't like country music, and that was a point some of them made when they sang. Adam made no attempt to hide his contempt for country music. Yes, he has a great voice. He could have done a much better job, and chose not to.

That is the 1st time I watched that show, and probably the last. The whole show was disrespectful of the Country genre. Why can't people be a little more accepting of other people's culture? They don't have to love the culture and music, but they should respect the other's right to their own choice and cultural heritage. I'm sure my avitar will give you a clue to where I'm coming from.

I thought AI was supposed to be for amateurs. The guy works on broadway in musicals. He's paid to sing.

And yeah, his version sucked.

Johnny Cash had a way of doing covers of other artists songs that gave new life to him. His version of "Hurt" was a true classic work of art. However, I don't think it works as well the other way around.

70. What Does Liberace Have To Do With This?
I greatly appreciate what Lee did for music. Liberace brought classical music to a much wider audience than would have been possible without him. How many people would know The Blue Danube if not for Liberace? Tschaikovsky Piano Concerto #1? My grandma always loved Liberace (What grandma didn't?), and it was a pleasure to take her to see him in Milwaukee, and meet him backstage. He even let me play his piano! I have a picture of me meeting him backstage. Give me time to find it. I think I posted it here while back. Oh, and I ewnt to the same piano school as Lee did, and for a short time, had the same teacher he did ("Miss B).

Sorry, went off on a bit of a tangent there.
