1. My best day was the day my son, my only child, was born.
I sure hope he feels the same way about me that Taylor Swift feels about her mom.

Thank you for introducing me to an extraordinary song. :) It's very touching.

And, like you, I'd give just about anything to see my own mom. RIP Eloise 2/9/2008...victim of early onset Parkinson's Disease.

3. The day I met Joan Jett.
She was nice to me and talked to me. I'll never forget it. It meant a lot to me that she was nice to little ol' me.

4. The day I got my law school diploma -
I'd finished my course work a semester early, but the university only has one graduation ceremony a year, so I had to wait until May to get my diploma.

And I had received word three days before graduation day that I had passed the Virginia Bar exam I had taken in February.

So I was a lawyer before I got my law degree.

My whole family was there, and we celebrated the whole weekend. It was great. Everyone was so happy and so beautiful and life was perfect.

It turned out to be the last time we would all be together. A lot of them are gone now. But, that sunny May day in Washington, DC, was just wonderful..............................

6. I'm sorry you miss your mom, I miss both my parents dreadfully.
They were my best friends. I think that if there is a heaven it'll be partying with all of the ones who have gone before. The questions that will be asked, the answers given, and the songs sung will be truly magical. This I look forward to.

My best day was when my son was born. Since then many of the worst days revolve around him. Today I am worrying about him terribly. His mother let him blow off 2 days of work to go to Washington DC with a couple of his friends. I don't know the friends and I don't know why she did this. He lives with me, not her, and he should be asking me. Basically I had already told him no.

So there you go. Good with the bad. If this thread were music based I would have many best days, but I've limited myself to the penultimate.

Words of warmth from Scuba

7. It was the day I crawled out of the bottle and walked away from it.
That was about 25 years ago.

I never went back to it- not even once.

8. The day I had my Baby Girl. 1985.
She's grown now. My one and only child. My parents' only grandchild.

Becoming a mother was really painful and difficult and hard on my body. But it was worth it.

10. This'll sound corny but,
it was the day I told my ex-wife that I loved her and she said she loved me too. We were both mature enough to know what we were talking about. It was real, and I'm sure that was the most wonderfully happy day I've ever had before or since.

Even though we divorced after 20 years we still love each other, we're like brother and sister I guess, and we're still each others best friend. It sounds kind of weird, but I'm even good friends with the guy she married 5 years ago. Anyway, that long ago day was my best day.

I'm sorry you're feeling down about your Mom. Robin's Dad was an extraordinarily lovable man and his death was just devastating to her. It was so sad. I have an inkling of the pain you must experience from time to time and I feel for you.

11. I can't choose a best day
They've been few and far between during the past decade but I have had many good times in my life which I have been very thankful for. The most recent was the birth of my niece

I'm sorry you miss you are missing your mom Haole Girl:hug:     I know somewhat how you feel. My mother passed away less than two years ago and she's in my thoughts everyday and in my dreams almost every night. My heart aches for all those who know the pain, grief and sadness of losing a parent

13. I had a date once...
... and even though everything that happened was G rated, I think it is the happiest I have ever been. Everything I said was funny, and she was perfect. I could tell from that first date that I was seriously falling for the girl. Sadly, it didn't last.

That one moment in time though, I was truly happy.

19. Birth of my son and birth of my daughter
:loveya: Nothing else in life compares to seeing your own child for the first time. :loveya:

also good days:
- wedding day
- getting a horse when I was a kid
- seeing Venice for the first time when I was 19
- acceptance to UC Berkeley
- one sunny day in San Francisco when I was young, carefree, newly promoted, footloose and had bountiful friendships
