Good morning Lounge
How are you today? Did you survive the green day yesterday? Not too much Guiness?? :D
Be happy, it is Hump Day. Time to start thinking about the weekend :woohoo: I will be visiting my mom. Haven't been there since Christmas. Of course she was at my place rather often the last few months :D She asked me to take some more pics of my place to show to friends this weekend.

Picture of the Day (our first kitty - Lillekort - Lillekort is a name in a Norwegian fairy tale my brother was reading when we got him)

6. Its what the train tracks
are set upon....

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Railroad_tie

MODOT aka Missouri Department of Transportation was redoing a lot of train tracks this past year, and my wife and her mother bought a bunch of the used ones.

My wife likes using the rail road ties for decorative/gardening purpose, by setting up boundaries for flowers/gardens and what not.

Each rail road tie that I moved, had to weigh about 100-250lbs at least(damn there was one, I swear was 300 plus)...I was setting up her flower bed in the front of our house.

Most of the ties we have are 10ft long, by ten inches wide, by 8 inches thick.

9. I will, but it will be some time
for that...probably May or so...:D

I just looked up the average weight for wooden/cresoted rail road ties, average weight was 200lbs...I'm glad its 200lbs...otherwise, I'd have to accept that I am getting older/weaker...

3. Happy Hump day MissH
I am going to have a really long weekend starting today.
The plant where I work is shutting down after today.
I found out yesterday.Oddly enough though,I'm sort of in a good mood.
I hated that job and the owner.
So even though I have nothing lined up yet, and I am filing for unemployment Friday, I am sort of relieved that that part of my life is finally over.
So this isn't a good thing but you won't hear about me jumping out a window.
I do feel bad about my former co-workers specially my friend and the workers who cast the concrete.
I only hope they pay me for the 13 days that they owe me for.
Oh? did I say good morning? :loveya:  Hows your toe?

Wishing you a safe trip and a great visit with your Mom.

No St. Patty's celebrations for me yesterday. Ran an errand after work, and just went home. There was a farewell gathering for a colleague after work, but I didn't go. All though I like my colleagues, a full day of them is sometimes enough.

relaxing evening. Work has been stressful, so I like to have some down time to recoup.

Visiting your mom for the weekend sounds nice. You have a trip to look forward to, so the rest of the week should fly by.

p.s. carrot coconut soup sounds fabulous!

Did you watch the movies yet I recommended?

28. Good Afternoon, MissH!
I got home really, really late last night, because I've been sucked into helping my parents plan a conference for an organization they are part of. The person who was supposed to be planning the conference disappeared (no one's heard from her at all) and the conference is now less than 2 months away, so the new group is going to be hustling to get things together in time.

When I heard that, I offered my help - I've been doing a lot of these things for work recently, so I've got a routine down. But between this, work, and school, I'm going to be even more busy than I already am. Oops.

How are you today? I'm excited about your weekend plans!

there is usually a point about 2/3rds in where I am cursing myself for doing it, but I'm always really pleased with the result, so I don't mind. There is a lot of support from the admins, which is nice too.

switching last year to having full resolution images submitted made a huge difference - and made it a lot easier in the long run. I'm definitely going to do that again.

99. I remember really liking your shot
to be honest, I generally don't look at who took what shot until after I have voted in the finals - that way I know I'm voting unbiasedly (as much as I can anyway - I'm a sucker for voting for those photos that only get one or two votes). So right now, I have no idea which is your shot.

33. Morning, MHC
I hope your foot is feeling better, ready to dance.

No green beer for me, no Guinness either. But if a bottle of Schwaben Brau was on my breakfast table ...

Cheers.

Played soccer last night, were beaten. :( At least the regular team was there, so I didn't have to go borrowing players. :P

50. We won last week
because the players I borrowed were experienced. The regulars are not former soccer players, they started playing as adults. :P

We should have played a better game against our opponents. :( If I could train them, or if they would go running to increase their endurance, the team would be better.

We/I won the grudge match, and that's what counts! :woohoo:

48. Good morning Blue_Tires
it is no wonder Opel is having trouble - their cars are the worst of German cars. If I would buy a car I would probably buy a Volkswagen. But i don't need a car. I get around just fine with Public transportation.

63. None whatsoever
I would love to have a cat or two. But I don't have the time for them at the moment (gone often over the weekend) and neither do I have the money right now for all the kitty stuff like litter box, scratching post etc. But one day I will get one again.

No dogs. I am a cat person :D

I didn't do too much for Green Day. I had to work most of the night. Went out for a drink or two after work. It was fun.

Relaxing now, and then I have to head into work again later!

I had to work from 6-3 yesterday and again tomorrow. The first shift person is on vacation this week and I am filling in for them on Tues/Thurs. I had to go in early Monday and again today. I did not make out the schedule so I have no control. It is a crazy place where I work.

He was a total sweetheart. But he only turned 7. Got hit by a car. I found him on the side of the street. 2 years later we got Octavia, the little devil.

Yesterday, I worked 6am - 3pm
Today, I go in at 12 noon - ? hopefully about 9pm because --
Tomorrow back in at 6am - ?
Friday back to regular 2pm - ? hopefully about 10:30 pm

See, crazy

Management is batshit insane where I work.

76. It was sad
but he continues to live in our memories. We had some fun stories with him. Did you ever see a cat getting scared by a mouse? Well, Lillekort got scared by a mouse

Octavia ... we couldn't decide on her name. So we took a female names book, chose some, threw them in a pot and drew a name. It happend to be Octavia :D

:wow: That IS a crazy schedule. Only two more days (OK, 3 for you) till the week is over.

that you don't have to drive forever to get to work. :D

Now that I moved it takes me longer to get to work. About 30 minutes. But that also means I have some time in the tram to read my book :D

Where do you catch the Tram? Close to the Condo? What time do you go in the morning? You start work at 9am, right?

Is the Tram like a bus or a subway?

86. My "tram" is a subway
that drives mainly above the ground :eyes:

Tram: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tram-train

The station is a couple of minutes away from my condo. Love it :) I leave the house around 8am and am at work between 8.30am and 8.45am. Depending on when I leave the house. Which depends on when I get out of bed
