Question for all the techies - regarding cell phone signals. |
|
I live in a very heavily militarized area. I have Dover AFB, what's left of Willow Grove AFB, and McGuire AFB, as well as Fort Dix - so it's very common to see the various military aircraft running drills in the skies. In the late evening hours is when I will hear the stealths doing their thing. I rarely see them - I just hear them, and also feel the house rumble a bit.
Here's my question: More often than not, when the fighters/stealths are within earshot/eyeshot, or the house starts to shake, I lose my cellphone signal. Can anyone explain to me why this is happening?

1. Those aren't stealth craft - they're space aliens |

'stealth' properties of the aircraft a radar interference signal (not strong enough to actually jam the signal and leave a 'hole' in the radar coverage, but low enough to interfere and make the plane 'blend' into background 'noise')? I would think this could interfere with cell phone signals. I don't know what the distance for interference would be, but I strongly suspect this could be a factor.
