1. My husband. Wherever he happens to be at the moment.
Just at lunch, though. Because he's usually in meetings.

We both gossip about the morons we work with. So yeah, she's about 20ft away.

4. My editor
on the other side of the country. We've never met, but we chat a lot. Weird? Not, I suppose, in the intertubes era.

5. My best friend, who lives in Maryland
We start each day with a "hi, how's the day starting?" email, then follow up as things go along through the afternoon, mostly links to news online or breaking details of work or colleague conflicts.

9. My mom and I used to IM all the time. Sometimes I'd even have to insist
that I needed to get back to work..."Mom!! I'm trying to write a sermon here!!". Now I miss those little interruptions to complain about the weather in Wisconsin, or my dad, or whatever. My dad knew she used to whine about him, I think, because he'd start his messages with "It's your dad". I think I once responded to one of his "hi's" with, "What's he done now? :eyes: " or words to that effect. LOL

12. IM 1,094 miles daily

We used to work together for years until she transferred a couple years ago. We chat daily and have a tiny email list of friends that we share bizarre stories with.

13. My sister, also.
Well according to Mapquest, she is 4,302 miles away (75 hours drive time). Alaska is a long ways away. Nine hours flying time (at least!)
