So a coyote tried to tear our dog a new one |
|
The most astounding thing this morning.
My daughter with her two dogs joined me with my dog for a two mile walk in the woods. The dogs were all off leash because we're on private property (with owners permission).
The dogs run in and out of the Christmas trees. We walk briskly along and my daughter stops. She thinks she heard a yelp. Her pit mix, sweet big mudgy, mudgy boy comes running out of the trees with a big coyote on his tail. He turns toward us, the coyote sees us and turns the other way and then slips back into the tree cover. When Chewy runs down the trail away from us his butt is pink.
Yeah, we think he likely got too close to a den (that time of year) and the coyote bit his butt. He got a rabies booster, two staples to close the tear and antibiotics to fend off any potential infection.
WOW, what a surprise. Chewy seems none the worse for wear.

He knew his "mom", the big dog, could deal with it.
