it was 90 in Palm Springs yesterday, and it broke a record with 91 today. kinda makes the $2.29/gal for regular gas almost worth it.

where are you? In Madison, we had 17 snowflakes today. Well, maybe it was 18. We're hoping for one last blast of snow to protect the plants through the spring thaw/refreeze/thaw/etc. cycle. Instead, they're talking rain for later in the week.
Now is your cabin someplace other than where you are? We also have a cabin near Spooner. That usually thaws out about mid-June! :)
and I paid $1.80 today.

Springtime in Pennsylvania -- gotta love it.
It may be the golden haze of nostalgia, but my recollection of spring weather in my childhood is that we actually had spring weather. Lots of it. And I got to wear my spring coat, the navy blue one with the sailor collar. None of this cold and damp until May and then summer starts jazz.
Last year was particularlyly bad. My backyard was like a sponge for months. I'd go outside and I'd hear the lawn popping gently underfoot, like a very large bowl full of very tiny Rice Krispies. Five of my bushes drowned. I really hope we don't get another spring like that . . .
