My mother is having a reaction to a shot for shingles. She has welts all over her body.
She won't call the Dr., or give me a phone number to call myself.

The pharmacy is right down the street. All we had to do is call the Dr. She doesn't want to bother him on a weekend. In the meantime, she is getting welts all over her body!

She makes me nuts!

3. Missy, she could go into shock and die. Call the ambulance -
work it out with her later.
She needs to see somebody NOW!

5. I just gave her an ultimatum. Give me your Drs name, or I'll take extra measures.
I just looked at her back. It's getting worse.

God she pisses me off!

I'm off to make phone calls now....

9. I talked to the pharmacist.
They said have her take some benadryl, and put some oatmeal fix on the welts. We have both.

I threatened her, so she took the benadryl or I'd call an ambulance. She's pretty pissed at me. Working on the oatmeal fix now.

God dammit she pisses me off.

You can kick my ass. Dammit, she always knows better than the experts.

10. Keep an eye on it
I used to take a medication (Lamictal) that caused a shingles-like rash that could be FATAL in approx. 2% of those who took it, if it was not treated in a timely manner. It may look like a rash, but it could be something else.

If it gets any worse, go to the ER IMMEDIATELY.

And she's coated in oatmeal now.

She's not happy with me right now. Pffffft! Wouldn't be the first time.

15. She's snoring now, cause the benadryl knocked her out. But she was sure pissed
at scraping oatmeal off herself when she went to bed. I'll never hear the end of this. LOL!

19. No I'm not a good daughter!
She sat vigil over me when I laid on my death bed for several days in Intensive care a while back. I guess it was my turn.

16. Gawd, she quit snoring. So I was worried about the breathing consequences.
I've been checking, and I think she is just snockered out from the benadryl. I doubt a thunderclap could wake her right now. LOL! But she is breathing and not with any distress.

I just couldn't tell when she quit snoring. I've had to walk into her bedroom and stand over her to see or hear her breathing. I think she's fine, and just comatose from the benadryl. This is a lady who has maybe one glass of wine per year, so no tolerance.

I expect this thread will get locked. But it's over now. And I, ... whatever.

your Mom is going to be alright. Yes, parents can be annoying, but in the end, you just gotta love them. :)
