We're thinking about going to Puerto Rico. Any advice?

Places to stay? Stuff to do? I've heard it's unsafe to go out at night. Is this true?

1. Depends on where you stay.

Parts of San Juan are a little iffy. But outside of there, if you go to the resort areas they are pretty safe.
Old San Juan is a wonderful old city--don't miss it. There is a tropical rainforest there..El Yunque thats pretty cool as well.
Where I stayed was a gated hotel Hyatt Dorado...If you go on the off season (Sept-Nov) you can get some fantastic rates too. We paid for what we thought was a poolside room and it turned out to be a ocean view cabana style room...We literally walked out from our back door to the beach...AND there were coral reefs right there (small) if you wanted to go snorkeling...

2. Take a boat or plane there. Don't try to drive nor walk.
