NFL receiver Stallworth charged with DUI manslaughter |
|
(CNN) -- Cleveland Browns wide receiver Donte Stallworth was charged in Florida on Wednesday with killing a pedestrian while driving under the influence, a spokesman for the Miami-Dade County state attorney's office said.
Authorities charged Stallworth, 28, with DUI manslaughter in the death of Mario Reyes, spokesman Ed Griffith said.
Stallworth is expected to surrender in court Thursday, Griffith said. The charge is a bondable offense, and bail is expected to be set at $200,000.
If convicted, he could face up to 15 years in prison.http://www.cnn.com/2009/CRIME/04/01/donte.stallworth.charged/index.html?eref=rss_latest

how someone making THAT much money will climb into a $200k car, while drunk, and drive somewhere. There are 24 hour limo companies out there if you REALLY need style like that.
Moron.
I am glad he didn't do what I think most expect out of NFL players these days. He seemed to cooperate, didn't run, etc.

The charge should have been DUI causing death. a 4 year felony. The prosecutor charged him with manslaughter. Stallworth will cop a plea and plead guilty to DUI causing death. He'll get 36 months.
