My 'Rube Goldberg' invention WORKS!
Don't you love it when you get an idea, build your whatever the way you think it should work, and IT WORKS!?

My rain gutter/rain barrel array works just the way I thought it would.
:-)

1. My last crazy contraption was not so successful. It destroyed curtains.

2. Very cool.
I built a live mousetrap once that worked. I was insufferably proud for weeks. :)

3. I hope it was fun to build.
:)

Something complicated enough to be called a Rube Goldberg invention had to take a bit of time and effort. :P

5. Gutters and garbage cans
Channeled some heavy roof runoff to a downspout and into a 35 gal. plastic garbage can. Put a hose bibb near the bottom of the can.

In heavy rain last week the can filled in about 20 minutes, so I drilled a hole a couple of inches from the top. Inserted a piece of 1/2" PVC pipe draining to yet another can. Now I've got 70 gallons of rainwater.
I may gang in one or two more cans. I have a small electric pump I can use to refill the fauceted can from the 'reservoir' cans.
:-)

4. Does the rain make the toaster pop or the water to boil?
