Technical question regarding internet downloads v. live feeds.

I am forced to utilize satellite internet (because of my location, Comcast and Verizon can't serve me). My service only allows me a certain amount of downloads, or else they start charging me extra $$$. Here's my question:

I want to run the live feed from my local classic rock station. Is that the same thing as a download? I know - probably a really stupid question; but I don't how this stuff works. Thanks.

that's where they really make the money. You get, say, 2 GB of download for free, and then, each additional MB is around 5 cents. So you watch four movies a month, there goes the 2 GB for free, and everything else makes their billing calculator overheat ...

11. Most of my downloads are when I watch YouTube music videos.

I have no idea on how to gauge my usage, without constantly going to my internet account to check on how I'm doing, usage-wise. It's a royal PITA.

I'd check the usage from time to time, especially if you watch a lot of HQ youtube vids. It adds pretty fast. :pals:

5. Try WMMR 93.3 FM They have a good mix, lots of classics on the weekends and

evenings, and they have a great web site with feeds.

(I'm really old, and I don't know the difference either.)

8. As far as I understand, it's the same thing....

whether it's downloads, or streaming audio/video- you're under the constraints of your data package... But I'm by no means a guru of such things... If I'm wrong, somebody please tell me!

When I first got a data-capable phone, I didn't realize that you had to get a data package to keep the cost (somewhat) reasonable... I ended up with a $350 phone bill that month! :dunce:

20. Yes, that will count, but streaming is low bandwidth

especially with rock radio stations

You could download the aptly named DU Meter
