Would u let your daughter wear any of these to the prom?

I kind of agree with whoever wrote this.
Not about all the dresses, but a few, for sure!

4. That's enough to make a person miss shiny taffeta and puffy sleeves.
No, if I had a daughter I would not buy any of those dresses. A few are hideous but cover up enough that if so inclined my theoretical daughter could buy one with her own money if I somehow failed to talk her into something tasteful.

My prom was in March and the venue had a large open-air courtyard. I had full sleeves and a floor length skirt on my dress, as much for warmth as for fashion. I had to get it made custom to get something I wanted that fit properly.

9. I didn't get to go to prom
because my folks really couldn't afford a dress, and I didn't have a date anyway. But I still had a dream of wearing a dress like this, with blue or white satin gloves to match.

14. That, to me, is a prom dress. My prom dress was that exact color
but ankle length. I loved it. My mom would have cut me before she let me go out in one of those tacky gowns from that web site.

now for the funny.. when I first looked at the pic u posted, I did a double take because the first time I looked i thought the text on the dress read: formaldresses4u.cock

Quite the change from the balloon-y dress my date wore, but then again-- I imagine the guys aren't wearing powder-blue tuxedos topped off with feathered hair anymore either. Probably just ripped t-shirts, sandals and that weird, greasy unkempt look that the teens are sporting around these days.

Happy to have been a teen in the early eighties-- it was the right time for me :P

Let a dress be a dress and a bathing suit be a bathing suit. There's no need to combine the two concepts. :banghead:

I wouldn't let my daughter wear any of that crap.

yeah, there may be a few radical designs, but the vast majority of girls wear the standards prom dress  My senior prom was 6 years ago, and my sister's 4, and the girls just wore contemporary formal dresses. It's not like more than a few girls are wearing things like this

edit: spelling

21. OMG!!!1!! this website alone is so funny/scary i don't know whether to laugh
or go hide under the bed!!

here's the main post, but it's the comments that make me go wackatron

High school senior prom is a very immoral ceremony where boys seduce girls into having premarital sex. They will ply your daughter with alcohol and then do grinding dances to devils music, all so they may put their serpent scepters into your precious girl’s no no zone.
I’m here to tell you today parents that you must not let your daughter go to prom this spring. Over 86% of teenaged pregnancy happens at senior prom and stats do not discriminate. Any girl can become pregnant.
When your daughter naturally cries and tells you it’s not fair that you forbid her to go to prom, ask her how she would like to be dieing a slow, bloody death of herpie AIDS and pregnancy while the rest of her moral friends are off enjoying their studies at college the next year.
At this point some liberal parents out there will try to convince you that senior prom is not all about sex and that your daughter won’t get pregnant our catch AIDS.
You just tell them to be quiet because 86% of teenage pregnancies happen at prom and if that stat isn’t reason enough to scare you into keeping your girl home this year, look at the new sinful dresses.
Look at the placement of the pink slits in this dress’s skirt area and try to tell me that’s not innuendo and foreshadowing of what a boy expects your daughter will be showing off later that night.
My friends Satan’s favorite food is your daughter’s virginity, so please don’t let some boy sow his sinful seeds in her fertile holy place. The gardens of evil and sinchilds that spring from it will only lead her to a life of disease, welfare mom prostitution and death. Keep your daughter from prom and make God proud.

and here's the Devil Dress :wow:

22. Most of our dresses were shorter
I graduated from high school in Ohio in 1996 and myself and the majority of my female classmates wore knee length or shorter dresses, not the long old fashioned looking dresses that seem to be popular now.

Fashion changes so much over time. Even if I find it hideous, as long as everything that should be covered up is, then who am I to say anything? Fashion is a funny thing.

Though it does look a bit like a nightgown. Not appropriate for a teen, but it would be stunning on someone a little older. The model is way too thin though. I want to buy her a shawl (to cover up those bony arms) and a sandwich.

49. I don't think they're bad at all, except that those dresses are ONLY for skinny women
Where I grew up in the midwest, that would have been one fucking ugly prom.

Well, they were ugly anyway, because it was the 80s and the designs were fucking godawful, but this would have been a very different kind of ugly. One advantage the godawful 80s styles had was that fat women could wear them, too, and look just as shitty as the thin women. Everyone was equal, then.
