I haven't owned a TV for three years
Now I'd like to buy one, but I've found that things have changed a great deal since I last bought a TV. For one thing there are no more box-type deals. Everything is slim and hangs on a wall. I've also noticed that they have home entertainment systems now to go with the TVs that look like computer speakers. I can't get anything like that seeing as how I live in an apartment. So, how good are the stock speakers on the new TVs? What do I need to know about the new TVs in general?

The stock speakers are good, and the picture is a 16x9 widescreen image. Basically, it looks like a small movie-theater screen. You'll receive HD channels, which are far superior visually compared to the old analog channels. Also, your widescreen DVDs will look better since you'll still get the full intended picture, but the black bars will be either minimal or virtually eliminated.

You can either put the TV on a stand (like me) or hang it on the wall. Also, the TV weighs very little, usually 1/3 or less of what the old-school TVs weigh.

Hope this helps.
