Name songs that are clearly a bunch of incomplete songs stuck together to form one song.
Examples:

Happiness Is A Warm Gun (The Beatles)
Paranoid Android (Radiohead)
Fergalicious (Fergie)

(Addendum: "Green Eggs And Ham" is the literary equivalent of this concept.)

1. Bryan Adams' "Heaven"
The lyrics are a bunch of cliches stuck together without a unifying theme:

Oh - thinkin' about all our younger years
There was only you and me
We were young and wild and free

Now nothin' can take you away from me
We bin down that road before
But that's over now
You keep me comin' back for more

Baby you're all that I want
When you're lyin' here in my arms
I'm findin' it hard to believe
We're in heaven
And love is all that I need
And I found it there in your heart
It isn't too hard to see
We're in heaven....

Yadda, yadda, yadda.

2. "Fingertips" by They Might Be Giants
Edited on Mon May-04-09 09:49 AM by Richardo

Everything is catching
Yes, everything is catching on fire
(Everything's catching on fire)
Everything is catching on fire (everything's catching on fire)

Fingertips
Fingertips
Fingertips

I hear the wind blow
I hear the wind blow
It seems to say, "Hello, Hello,
I'm the one who loves you so."

Hey now everybody now
Hey now everybody
Hey now everybody now

Who's that standing out my window?

I found a new friend
Underneath my pillow

Come on and wreck my car (come on)
Come on and wreck my car (come on)
Come on and wreck my car (come on)
Come on and wreck my car (come on)

Aren't you the guy who hit me in the eye?
Aren't you the guy who hit me in the eye?

Please pass the milk, please
Please pass the milk, please
Please pass the milk, please

Leave me alone, leave me alone

Who's knocking on the wall?

All alone all alone
All by myself

What's that blue thing doing here?

Something grabbed ahold of my hand
I didn't know what had my hand
But that's when all my troubles began

I don't understand you (I don't understand you)
I just don't understand you (I don't understand you)
I don't understand the things you say
I can't understand a single word
I don't understand you (I don't understand you)
I just don't understand you (I don't understand you)
I cannot understand you (I don't understand you)
I don't understand you (I don't understand you)

I heard a sound, I turned around
I turned around to find the thing
That made the sound

Mysterious whisper
Mysterious whisper
Mysterious whisper
Mysterious whisper

The day that love came to play

I'm having a heart attack
I'm having a heart attack
I'm having a heart attack
I'm having a heart attack

Fingertips
Fingertips

I walk along darkened corridors
And I walk along darkened corridors
I walk along darkened corridors
And I walk along darkened corridors

Two cool (but semi-incomplete) songs stuck together.

10. This one's obscure, but "Happy to be Sad" by the Mamas & Papas
That sounds like excerpts from at least two songs scotch-taped together. Jarring.

14. There's a line in that song that really annoys me...
"But if this ever changing world in which we live in..."

It bugs out the hell out of me. Such as, like therefore, inasmuch.

Crazy Ol' Jim Gordon is a much better writer than Derek

21. I would tend to agree-- except for the signature riff
the whole first part of the song is pretty average-- nothing Clapton couldn't write in his sleep. IMHO Jim Gordon is probably as talented than Clapton, but has the misfortune of being 1) a drummer, and 2) batshit mom-murdering crazy (at this point, I don't know which is the greatest disability).

And wouldn't you know it, when God-- err, Clapton played it unplugged, he all but emasculated the song by burying the riff with the piano. I can't even stand to listen to it unplugged, as it sounds like a kneecapped version of the original.

33. Amen, brother, about the unplugged version.
I became totally disillusioned when I learned that Duane Allman was actually responsible for the riff.

I disagree with you about the first part of the song being just average. It's a stunning progression, an excellent example of a why they call some songs "hooky." And because it has those hooks in you, it makes it a great song about anguished love. (Just don't listen too closely to the lyrics.) It made no sense to slow it down. It needs to be punched out and played fast, desperately.

I never got why the meandering, whining, kitschy coda was tacked on.
