Female musician wanted for freaky partnership
I found this cruising around craigslist this morning... It speaks for itself.

http://baltimore.craigslist.org/muc/1153135862.html

Date: 2009-05-03, 11:33PM EDT

I am a reggae, pop and lovesong artist. I am a songwriter, experienced
recording artist and guitarist looking to find a female partner who wants to develop their
voice and or music demos/recordings and train for "live" performance, singing skills,
recording skills, songwriting skills.
Please check out my pics and listen to my music to make sure our tastes are compatible by
going to www.clearhaze.net
Please be single, no boyfriend, and ok with "dating me" also, since what I am looking
for is something of a friendship, coaching, parntnership at first, but a possible
romance later also. I will act as your friend, partner and coach.
and I will ask your advice and get ideas from you to help both of us move forward
to improving our chances of making money in music.
I am 46 years old, but very young looking and I am a pro guitarist
and have extensive skills on stage and in the studio.
I've had 3 music contracts that made me little or no money
and i've lived in 11 US states and foreign coutry promoting myself
And I can tell you.. I AM GROUNDED.. and I'm realistic about the music biz.
I expect you to be as well. Finding contracts and making money takes
years...and sometimes never happens regardless of how talented you
are or how much you pray to the music gods.
The bottom line in the music industry is ...trying to make a living in the music biz is like
trying to hit the lottery. And that is why I am looking for a partner.
I am tired of buying lottery tickets on my own and I believe I increase
my chances of "surviving" if I find a talented and UNSELFISH partner.
I am looking for a partner who is aware and realistic that we need to have
alternate ways to make money together besides performing
on a stage....and we will be partners to pay bills together
and help each other find work, music or non music work/jobs,
freelance or part time, or full time, whatever.

If interested in being my partner you will help promote me
my music and I will help promote you ...and help you develop
your voice and demo recordings/songs. I will aslo help
you with marketing ideas and WE WILL BOTH
WORK ON MAKING MONEY IN THE MUSIC BIZ OR
NOT IN THE MUSIC BIZ, BUT ANYWHERE WE CAN,
SOLO OR AS A TEAM. and maybe after we have
known each other long enough we will live together or travel together
for any opportunity to make money for both or either of us.

YOUR STYLES SHOULD ONLY INCLUDE:
Pop, neo soul, funk, soul, old school R&B
lite jazz, lite gospel, or your own original style.

NO RAP OR HIP HOP PLEASE

If interested send by email: Bio, pics, links, website address, phone number, and days/times you
are available to rehearse, and your music experience (unless you
are a beginner, which is ok because I will train a beginner singer with natural abilities)

Yeah...There's nothing that turns a Woman on more then starting out with a
threatening "Lay down the Law" kind of Bullshit.

4. "I've had 3 music contracts that made me little or no money"
That's a bragging point?

"I am looking for a partner who is aware and realistic that we need to have
alternate ways to make money together besides performing
on a stage...."

He'd be better off with the succinct, "Parasite Looking for Host".

5. Ew. Now THAT'S creepy
Rule #1 of ANY band: no fraternization amongst members. It only wrecks things at inopportune moments. It is also how songs like "Don't You Want Me" by the Human League get inspired.

6. Go check out his website, too
You'd think that, as a recording artist, he would know the benefit of not only proofreading your promotional materials, but also having somebody who has a grasp of the English language write your copy.

The first paragraph:

CLEAR HAZE is Marty Barnes who is a reggae/pop artist. He is known for his polished skills as a performer and recording artist . Although Marty is a solo artist.

Right.
