In the past 4 hours I have triaged 22 patients (that is usually an all day total, not just the morning session--we were swamped), had three potential flu patients I had to send to the ER for testing, 2 patients I had to call security on to get them to leave the clinic, and to end it all: a patient is pissed that the doctor isn't going to see him today---he has to return to see him tomorrow for his regular doc to see him. Apparently there was a miscommunication between him and todays doctor cuz he thought he was to come and see her. I explain this to him via a translator----four times. He then complains to my boss that I "looked angry" and he wanted to report me. So I get called in and talked to. He was upset with me from the get go for being the one to tell him he would not be seen. And each time I repeated what the doc said, the angrier he got and said he would be seen. So he goes with the "she had an angry look to her" when I didn't. End result: I get a talking to.....
Is it Friday yet????

1. Well , patients will be patients . |

It doesn't help having to fill in all the inane paperwork . and while you are hurting like hell receptionists show no concern or sympathy at all and the first thing that comes from their mouth is "I.D. and insurance card"
I know they are swamped , but that is not the patient's fault.
