can you hook up a wireless dish network setup |
|
Edited on Mon May-11-09 12:23 PM by Juche
We have 2 dish network recievers in my house, and I was considering putting a 3rd up somewhere else in another part of the house. Is there a way to send the signals wirelessly or via the power lines rather than a coaxial cable to connect the 3rd reciever to the satellite? I do not think a wired connection would work unless I snaked it through the ceiling. Would a wireless adapter or powerline adapter work?

But I seriously doubt it. That's an awful lot of information being passed at once.

3. I think the new 802.11n wireless adapters transfer at up to 300Mbps |
|
Up to being the key word obviously.

2. I am curious about the answer to this as well |

We have DirecTV. I would like to put a receiver with our Wii TV, but running coax would be difficult at best.

4. This looks like something Billy Mayes would be hawking but |
|
you might look into it. I used a $2 splitter and ran cable myself. http://www.x10.com/products4/google/wireless_video_sender_v.html

5. Thanks for this! This looks good for us too! |
|
I forgot about these wireless video senders... I haven't heard a lot of good things about X10's products but if this would do it for $50 (+ s&h) then it might be an investment I might make too.
Mark.

6. The reviews on wireless video senders aren't too good on amazon |
|
At least not unless the device is $100 or more. The 5.8Ghz models seem to get far more 4 and 5 star reviews than the 2.4Ghz models. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_e?url=search-alias%3Delectronics&field-keywords=Wireless+Video+Sender+&x=17&y=18
