romping with wild lions? Hopefully he won't suffer the same fate that the "grizzly man" did: http://www.facebook.com/ext/share.php?sid=96724882639&h=8vdZH&u=32Ky9&ref=mf

I saw that several months ago. I like what he's doing, but that would take an incredible amount of trust and nerve. If one of those lions got a bit over excited he could be dead or severely mauled in the blink of an eye. Still, it's heartening to see things like this even though it also reminds me of what dreadful mess so much of Africa has become for man and beast. Sad.

4. I wonder how he got that close to them to begin with |
|
He couldn't have known them all as cubs. I used to have some baby raccoons in my backyard that I photographed all the time. Eventually they not only stopped being afraid of me, but they would try to get me to join in on their games. They'd even come over and either sit on my feet or lean against me, or "tag" me then run away. Maybe wild animals have something of a sixth sense about our intentions that they develop over time? Who knows, but I wouldn't try the same with a pride of lions!
