My poem from the open mic tonight: "Waking"
I wake from sleep
And here you are
Your hands caress my hair
I feel your smile
Not just your mouth
But in your tender eyes

You lean over me
To stroke my face
I rise from sleep to hold you

You kiss my mouth
I feel your tongue, your whisk’ry beard
As I respond

You cover me
With your embrace
I turn in your arms
As you sink down
By my side

You touch my flank
I draw you in
We unite in the morning time

My god, my love
Don’t ever let me go
Don’t ever let me go

1. Beautiful Peggy.
Very passionate, yet tender and loving. Brought a smile to my cynical face.

I'm so pleased you saw all that in it...

So did the folks at the open mic tonight.

So did my husband...

Thank you, sweetie...

9. DU's own CaliforniaPeggy ...
... single-handedly responsible for inciting more action under the sheets than any other individual, living or dead - or just comatose from having been awake all night doing everything BUT sleeping.

You will be the death of us all, CalPeg - the death of us.

(But what a way to go!)

10. Can you hear me laughing, my dear Nance?
Not at you, sweetie...

With you!

I hardly think my poetry will cause anyone's death, or little death, either!

Thank you so much, sweetie...

It means the world to have you post here...

15. I love, love LOVE it
That reminds me so much of my husband and I.

Sometimes late at night, when he thinks I'm asleep, he gently holds my face and kisses me, and says "I love you so much" Like he's telling me a secret. Lord, I love that man.

(He has a bit more than a "whisk'ry beard" but I love that too)

16. My dear ismnotwasm!
Ah, I'm glad you like it, and that it reminds you of your husband!

It's this sort of tender attention that keeps the passion in a relationship...

Thank you, sweetie!
