1. Sorry Dudes and Dudettes - Star Trek had the greater staying power
Star Wars became a joke of what it once was

Case in point: Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones and Return of the Jedi

2. Empire alone wins this tilt.
Start Trek never did anything for me.

9. Can't really compare the two. One is fantasy, one is sci-fi.
Although personally I'm a Star Wars geek.

11. Trek is straight sci-fi. Star Wars, however, is fantasy that happens to be set
in a high-technology setting. :)

13. Star Wars
There are many reasons why it is superior to Star Trek but I'll just illustrate this one:

Alien in Star Trek

Alien in Star Wars

14. Star Wars is more of a little boy's fantasy than Star Trek, which tries to be progressive.

15. Before the prequels came out, we could have sensibly given the nod to Star Wars...
...if only movies are to be considered. Trek, though, has all those series, each of which had a pulse, at least, compared to what's become of the Lucas franchise.

There's just so much more Trek around, though, that all the good Star Wars offered is far outdone. Intermittently, that is.

16. Star Trek
Star Wars has only 3 good films. Star Trek? Much more.
