I saw an Exxon/Mobile employee stealing from his employer today.

He rang up my coffee at the gas station, added an employee discount, then gave me my change with no receipt and pocketed a quarter. Now I definitely don't condone stealing, but I had to smirk as I walked out the door thinking of how many millions Big Oil has stolen from the people (Americans and otherwise).

Go pasty-ass middle-age Joe Schmuck, sticking it to The Man a quarter at a time!

3. Not enough, apparently, or I would have been the one getting the quarter. :/

4. A quarter?
That would have been insulting, and I'm sure that taking $50s out of the register would have triggered something.

5. Oh yeah, big smile and wished him a great day.

He though he was sooo smooth and that I was totally oblivious to his larceny. Too funny. :)

10. But if he pockets a quarter on every cup of coffee they sell at the station
that might add up to a decent tip.

Used to sell a lot of coffee back in the days when I worked in those type of establishments. And that was before there were Starbucks and drive thru coffee places everywhere. Wish I would have thought of that scam at the time. Then again, my boss had video cameras rolling and he carried a 9mm handgun with him, so maybe it wouldn't have been a good idea.

12. Well, as long as he's taking it from Exxon.
I won't even patronize any place that sells it.

11. 99.9% of people don't count their coins when they get change
but my Grandmother does and she busted a Mcdonald's cashier who shorted her a quarter. Think about it...collecting quarters all day? That starts to add up!!

14. That guy was just stealing from the gas station owner/operator.
Who will raise his prices to recoup the loss.

Unfortunately, Exxon already got their cash when they sold HIM the gas.

15. Probaly not
I have a friend who is an assistant manager at Circle K and also one who was fired from Circle K. It is normal for the cash recieved to receipt to be off by several dollars at the end of a shift. It is common and they don't raise the prices over it. It is a problem when a substantial amount of money is missing. My latter friend was fired for being $75 short.
