If I have inherited income, will that affect being able to get Unemployment benefits? |
|
THAT is something I can't find online. :( The inherited income is never the same amount...unreliable amounts monthly & not enough to live on. Am I screwn? :scared: PS Thanks to all who answered in my previous thread :hi: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=105x8792059

Income totally related to your job loss doesn't matter- you could be collecting rent from an entire apartment building you owned in the clear, get a 10 million check from your late granny's estate, doesn't matter. Unemployment insurance isn't need based, it just helps to replace your employment income while you look for work.

All they ever asked me was if I did any work. As long as you meet the requirements of looking for work, etc. there shouldn't be a problem. If it's just like a dividend/royalty check, that's not income from actually working.
