1. Beastie Boys.
Easily. Also the best Rap Act of the 80's and the 2000's, up through and likely including "Hot Sauce Committee"

4. Of those listed, Pharcyde are probably my favourite.

The Roots or Souls of Mischief/Hieroglyphics probably get my vote otherwise.

6. Gotta go with the Notorious B.I.G. on this one. The guy was just an amazing example
of his chosen art-form, and his radio hits ("One More Chance," "Hypnotize," etc.) really don't do him justice.

"Long Kiss Goodnight" (I don't even need an EXPLICIT LYRICS disclaimer, do I?): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m--NOkPdejY

"Warning": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HhD5E6pMboU

..."I get props at my mention cause I vex y'all". Is this even an argument?

11. The Beasties, for "Paul's Boutique" alone.
(Even though it was recorded in '89, and even though most of it's genius is courtesy of the Dust Brothers)

Dre comes in 2nd.

17. Well, I think they blended rock with rap better than anyone...
...and for me, that beats purer rap.

24. The Beasties might be the best act, but Dre's "The Chronic" is the best album.
It did for rap what grunge did for rock. Completely redirected what the mainstream of the genre was doing. Few albums in any genre can make that claim.
