Freaked out: I'm not even fit to have animal companions. |

Suddenly it is giving me intense anxiety that I'm actually turning my dog and cat into nervous wrecks due to my own anxiety disorders lately.
This is making me profoundly depressed.
I've noticed that over the past six months, particularly, my dog and cat are exhibiting the behaviors of neurotic animals, and I know it is not their fault but my own, due essentially to my own behaviors over the past six (or eight, more likely) months.
I am trying to get back into daily meditation, get back into yoga and some of my better habits that I'm letting slip, but it's so hard right now.
But when I see the toll my state is taking on my animals, it really upsets me. I know I am better than this, and I owe them more.
Has anybody else here ever felt that they were upsetting the mental health of their pets or animal companions, and if so, what did you do to correct this.
I'm trying to put aside some time each day just to spend it with my dog and my cat. But I know that they are smarter than I am, and they know I'm a wreck right now. It's a teensy-weensy bit hard to conceal that at this moment.

because my car is in the shop and he is only getting walks on leash. He needs to run and play with other dogs and its just not going to happen until sometime next week. I feel bad about it.

2. What are your cat and dog doing? How do they seem stressed? |
|
Animals do sense and react to their humans' mental states, but if you sit quietly and pet them, it will probably calm both you and them.
