He said, "I feel like it is time for bed." She said, "Sleepy time?" with just a hint of disappointmnet. "I still feel like that pig flu is in me. I'm acky and fatiqued. I am cold, then hot. My tummy hurts." "So no to your husbandly duties tonight?" A pause. "This week?" I'm sorry I'm not feelin it. But I'm not. I feel tired, like shit. Technically, I could do it. let the inspiration hit and I am giggy. But now she knows that nothing will happen tonight. She is in the mood. He is not.

4. This happens to couples who are the same age too |
|
I don't see this as an age gap issue and I don't understand why this scenario would be reason enough to break up with someone.

6. She should let the poor dude sleep and go "work it out" herself. |
|
Why is this non-obvious to some women?

7. Chick, he just got over the flu |
|
If it's a persistant problem, this couple needs to plan more spontaneity into their lives--get out of town, send the kids to visit the g'rents, rent a canoe, go stimulate the economy somewhere. It's just a one-off incident cause he's still recovering from a flu, she just needs to get roses and a surprise dinner some time in the next week, once he's over it.
By the way... I thought "husbandly duties" had to do with fixing a leaky faucet in the kitchen.

8. "So no to your husbandly duties tonight?" A pause. "This week?" |
|
my wife ever said (or even suggested) that to me would get me off my death bed.
In all serious though, this seems like a very petty, almost selfish, statement.
If they're sick (or not in the mood) accept it, get over it, tomorrow's another day.
