Most Annoying Office Noise
Mine: packing tape. *shudder* Close second: my electric stapler, which practically musters more force than my desktop can withstand.

What's yours?

3. Throat-clearing / coughing...
Not the loud, really-sick hacking kind (I might feel bad for ya)... but the little 'tic' type, you know, the person who does it every 10 or 15 seconds, all day.

28. Smoker-Junior cough is the one that gets me
Not the phglegmy cough of a hardcore smoker, but the chest-clearing "HEM!", or, rather, "HOOM!" of a casual smoker. For some reason it drives me crazy.

17. I had a coworker who played that new country crap all day.
There is nothing worse than seven hours a day (I'd shut it off when she left for lunch) of hokey fake drawls, uninspired musicianship and incredibly insipid lyrics. Especially because the same horrible songs would be repeated frequently on whatever satellite radio station it was.

21. The Betty Boop voice of a woman in a nearby cube.
Her squeaky little-girl voice drives me nuts. She's a nice enough person, and I suppose she can't really help it that her voice is so high-pitched that it's probably easier for dogs to hear her than people, but still. It's really hard to listen to.

29. Once I was walking through a production area and stopped at a desk
to go over the paperwork I had in my hand. I was standing there, comparing a column of numbers or something, only vaguely aware of the DJ on the radio in the background. It was only gradually that I noticed the undiluted torrent of sewage coming out of the speaker. That was my introduction to Howard Stern.

Some places ban Howard on the grounds his drivel amounts to sexual harassment!

32. The POS photocopier that is right next to my desk.
And of course - the thing that pisses me off is that we have a real nice copier but its a leased piece of equipment and we get charged based on the amount of copies we make, so everyone uses the one behind my desk.

34. A man named Mark......
He cannot NOT make noise. If he isn't talking to you, he's talking to himself. If he isn't talking to himself, he's humming. If he isn't humming, he's tapping his pencil on the desk. Etc, etc.

37. the person next to me and her annoying laugh, plus the fact that she laughs at
stuff that just isn't funny. Trouble is she thinks she is really funny and she just comes off as a ditz, and she never ever misses a chance to turn what ever it is that we are talking about into a dirty sex joke. Now I am no prude at all but it just isn't appropriate in an office setting even if the office is mostly women, it is more like how you might be with a bunch of women drinking margaritas.

there is another woman that talks way too loud when she is on the phone with customers, or talking with our team lead about a problem claim or something and she just has a very annoying braying voice

In my old age I am finding voices more and more annoying.

This is why I spend most of the day with my earbuds deep in my head, listening to classical music
